Building a high performing brand for a high performance coach

Dr. Erik Korem hired Made X Maker to help define his personal brand. This included a full brand strategy, brand positioning, purpose statement, visual identity, and tagline development, as well as podcast and media branding.

The Challenge

Erik Korem’s list of accomplishments is a mile long. From playing football for University of Texas at Auburn, to coaching Olympians and NFL athletes, to being a Presidential Scholar - Erik has made a name for himself among the elite.

The problem was, he wanted to start focusing on his personal brand and stop working for organizations. He was ready to go it on his own, and didn’t know where to really start.

Through a mutual friend, Erik and I connected on his brand and I asked him what his purpose was, why he felt he needed to do this now, and what did he have to offer that was unique...

To this, he had many deep and unique answers, but the one question he mainly had was: “How do I create a personal brand and start taking about what I do to help people?”

So glad you asked Erik...

The Solution

We began really with just a few sessions going back and forth. Me asking questions, Erik answering and asking more. We eventually ended up going through a full brand strategy workshop to get a fuller picture of what we needed to do to launch and sustain his brand.

Personal, Empathetic, Helpful, and Purposeful - that’s who Erik is. He is a wealth of information around high performance and human development, yet a complete noob when it came to branding—but he was a quick learner.

We focused on his strengths: his deep wealth of knowledge and ability to create all kinds of written and video content around it.

We crafted a visual identity that mixed personal and professional yet modern and not stuffy. We also helped to create visual templates to unify his look and feel across all media channels.

We continue to be his brand consultancy of record as he grows his personal brand as well as his newest venture AIM7.
